Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) – Preparatory A Piano The RCM Preparatory A Piano Program introduces beginning students to the essential skills needed to develop a strong foundation in piano playing and musicianship. Through carefully structured lessons, students develop note reading, rhythm, keyboard awareness, technique, coordination, listening skills, and musical expression while learning age-appropriate repertoire. This program provides guided instruction and practice support to complement the student's RCM Preparatory A studies and help them progress confidently toward future RCM levels. Students will develop: Basic keyboard and note-reading skills Steady rhythm and accurate counting Proper piano technique and coordination Musical expression and listening skills Confidence performing beginner repertoire Foundational theory and musicianship skills Recommended for: Beginning piano students starting their RCM learning journey.
